A discussion between Anne Imhof, Andrea Faraguna, Anne Lacaton and Jean-Philippe Vassal

In the Palais de Tokyo, the artist Anne Imhof has created a glass labyrinth that fragments the space and generates new perspectives.

This notion of transparence and circulation was also at the heart of the renovations of the Palais de Tokyo carried out by Anne Lacaton and Jean-Philippe Vassal in 2001 and in 2012. The duo reworked the environment into a vast landscape :

“What we were looking to do with the Palais de Tokyo, and what we have succeeded in doing, I think, is to strike this delicate balance between a space for living and a space for art. The Palais, with its vast and idiosyncratic volumes, lends itself to this unique experience.”

With this in mind, it is only natural to bring together artist Anne Imhof and her collaborator, the architect Andrea Faraguna, with Lacaton & Vassal, winners of the prestigious Pritzker Prize in 2021, to discuss their respective visions of this exceptional environment.
