Agnieszka Ryszkiewicz (PL)

Born in 1982. Lives and works in Paris.

Graduate of the M.Sc. programs in Paris 8-St Denis University in dance and esthetics, contemporary dance at IDA (Linz, Austria), and Essais program for young artists at National Center for Contemporary Dance at Angers, France (CNDC direction Emmanuelle Huynh).

Agnieszka Ryszkiewicz works as a dancer and choreographer. She is co – founder of a platform for choreographic production Meteores (established in 2010).

Taking reflection on time, individual and collective memories, and remembering as points of departure, her work evolves into multidisciplinary projects frequently featuring slow-motion movement and abounding in cinematographic references. Consequently, in her performances, professional and amateur dancers navigate between impersonating characters of fiction and being themselves.

Her work has been presented in numerous festivals including: Performatica (Cholula, Mexico), Art for Children Biennale (Poland), Warsaw Dance Night (Poland), Mains d’œuvres (Saint-Ouen), several Museums of Fine Arts, Frac Pays-de-la-Loire, CNDC d’Angers. She was twice awarded the Polish Ministry of Culture grant. Since 2007 she is a regular contributor to www.corpusweb.net.
