Sven Sachsalber (1987, Italy) currently lives in New York, but his work finds its roots in Südtirol, the border area between Italy, Switzerland and Austria, where Sachsalber was born. His intense performative work often balances on physical exhaustion, such as eating a poisonous mushroom, spending 24 hours with a cow in a room or cutting down a large tree by hand. 

Sachsalber is always the protagonist in his work in which the performative and the sculptural play a key element. Often funny, often serious and sometimes both, his work contains a universal poetic element. During the performance at Palais de Tokyo Sachsalber will be looking for a needle in the haystack. The duration of the performance is fixed to two days, but who knows how long it will take to find it…
