THE THIRD MIND /
Avec THE THIRD MIND, Ugo Rondinone nous offre un voyage unique. IRM de ses influences, de ses inclinations et de ses obsessions, l’exposition se construit comme une déambulation dans un cerveau en perpétuelle activité et plonge à la source des références et des découvertes de l’artiste.
En hommage au livre demeuré inédit de William S. Burroughs, l'écrivain culte de la Beat Generation, et de l’artiste Brion Gysin, Ugo Rondinone procède à un découpage et à un remixage du paysage artistique contemporain. THE THIRD MIND est composé des oeuvres de trente et un artistes différents rassemblés sous le signe du cut-up.
With THE THIRD MIND, Ugo Rondinone offers us a unique journey. An MRI scan of his influences, inclinations and obsessions, the exhibition is constructed as a stroll through a brain in perpetual activity, going straight to the source of the artist’s references and discoveries.
In homage to the book realised by Burrouhs and Gysin, which was never published, Ugo Rondinone sets out to cut up and remix the contemporary artistic landscape to allow a new meaning to emerge from it. THE THIRD MIND, composed from the works of thirty-one different artists.
